ASPENHEART OF THUNDERCLAN
warrior • 46 moons • female • tbd
ASPENHEART was given the prefix ASPEN for their mottled calico pelt like the aspen tree. They have the suffix HEART for their determination and strength of character.
x, x
APPEARANCE
Thin and lithe, almost fragile, such a strong character seems juxtaposed to her appearance. She has a calico pelt, mottled like fallen autumn leaves upon a grey dirt facing a blackened sky. She has little dark brown on her body at all; her coat is primarily made of orange, black and white hues. She has a face that always seems to denote either pride, surprise or aggression, though without a doubt her personality is more complex than this. Her ears are short and pointed; her fur is short also. Her nose is a reddish pink color and her eyes are a commanding golden green. She has a white crest extending from her chin to her stomach and long translucent whiskers with a thin grey-orange/black tail.
PERSONALITY
spitfire, aggressive, manipulative, brash, crass, harsh, stubborn, head-strong
commanding, determined, involved, inspiring, motivating, strong, good leadership skills, perceptive
- spitfire
Aspenheart is not known for a gentle disposition. She has a tendency to mouth off others, quite intensely, if needed be, or if she judges it is necessary. She's sharper than knives and her ability to hack at others is no exception to this. She rarely, if ever, holds her tongue, except perhaps on extremely important occasions or solemn times, such as mass gatherings - where the leader does include kits - or vigils for the deceased. Though she is vocal and has strong opinions, she dismisses those who call her "angry" for she is not angry; she is opinionated. This trait, above all others, tends to land her the most enemies and they are often cats with highly traditional values, not very keen on her "new" ideas. She uses cat swears almost liberally and though most know this is in jest, they would not want to know what would happen if her vocabulary for them were to expand.
- aggressive
She will never take no for an answer, that's for sure. True to her ThunderClan blood she will fight for what she believes to be right, even at the cost of her own life. That makes her reckless and she's well aware of it but she would rather be foolish than a coward. She's easily angered, temper constantly raising and it would be unfortunate for any character who brushed upon her the wrong way. Her short fuse tends to land her in all kinds of rivalries and she's well known to snap at others and has no reservations, not even for kits or elders. Her aggressive nature can be subdued, however, if one simply avoids any kind of criticism towards her or lack of respect. Thin-skinned? She calls it dignified.
- manipulative
Though Aspenheart does not set out to manipulate others, this often arises as a consequence of wanting to achieve. Any goal she sets must be completed and done well, even if this means stepping on others toes to do so. She can act coy, sweet and kind in order to gain affiliations with someone to move up the social ladder and then drop them back down to earth with harsh words and a growling voice. She believes that she has everyone wrapped around her fingers at her beck and call, that she is the supreme queen of Thunder. How incredibly wrong she is. How tragic.
- brash
The calico is very callous and says everything exactly how it is. As before, the only two subjects she is careful about are StarClan - only around religious cats however - important meetings and death. Other than that anything is fair play. Look ugly today? Aspenheart's going to point it out, and she'll point it out in front of all your friends as well. She has no social inhibitions; if cats were able to be drunk she would be perpetually so. You're a terrible hunter? Aspenheart will definitely mention it and if you're an apprentice she'll say it to your mentor. So what if the mentor already knows? Everyone needs to know how everyone is fairing, so that the clan can function as a unit. Call it unnecessary if you like, but she definitely won't make you forget that, either.
- crass
As said before, Aspenheart is very keen on warrior swears, interjecting a mousedung or fox-something or other into virtually every sentence. She has no concept of acting with sagesse or even conforming to etiquette. To everyone who knows her this is just another funny part of her personality, a kind of nervous or unconscious habit, but to those who don't she can come off as disrespectful and unaware of social order. Equally, she will call the deputy, medicine cat or leader swears, even if this lands her into trouble, though by now most of them should be aware of it at least. For those who comment on it, she ignores them and continues to do so, and thus no one has ever been able to remove the tendency from her. Innate? Perhaps not. Instilled? Certainly.
- harsh
Aspenheart is hyper-critical of everyone, except perhaps herself. Even a slight under performance is a blight on the sanctity of the clan and must be fixed at once. Is there a spot on the den that was missed when cleaning? The she-cat will make sure to publicly shame you around everyone present, and then do it to her own standards herself. They always say that if you want it done well, do it yourself. She lives by that mantra, fiercely independent, relying on no one. She doesn't realise however, that in her harshness she turns people away and in her obsession with doing things herself, she never does them perfectly because she is not perfect. She could never be anything but perfect in her mind, of course. Perfectionist.
- stubborn
Want to do something new that Aspenheart is not into? Good luck. She won't listen, probably will ignore you or shame you, and then proceed to move on to something else. Most things that do not align with her own philosophy are a waste of time and space, and she butts heads with anyone who disagrees with her. It would be expected that she would listen to the leader or deputy more than fellow warriors but this is not usually the case; regardless of rank, she'll only do something if she can get something out of it. Why would she want to do anything else, besides? Everyone knows her ideas are always right.
- head-strong
The calico never thinks before doing anything. Many people have counseled her on the issues surrounding this, but once again, she doesn't listen. She is highly volatile and emotional; any action is subject not to logic but to subjective feeling. This makes her incredibly inconsistent. One day she will wring you around the neck for not practicing fighting enough and the next she will merely scold you, all dependent on her mood. Thus it would never be too prudent to be overly cautious around her, knowing that in a split second it could all backfire.
+ commanding/good leadership skills
Aspenheart has a good way of rallying others together for a common goal. She leads with ease, and can have most cats, especially the meek ones, at her beck and call if she chooses her words correctly. She is decisive and naturally can tell what the next step of operation should be but also has the emotional skills to know what people want and what they don't want. She is always seeking adventure and leading the way when it must be searched; she cannot stand being subordinate to anyone, which of course always lands her into issues with authority.
+ involved
Even though she may seem downright obsessive, Aspenheart truly does want the clan to interact with one another and work fluidly. She hates to see breaks in communication or effectiveness, and thus always wants the clan to work as a functional unit with everyone involved, including herself. She will make sure every single apprentice is working to maximum capacity, if needed be. This also means however that she has little patience for lazy people and will even yell at those who are not meeting her own standards. Despite this, she does mean well, or at least that is the vibe she gives off.
+ inspiring/motivating
If a speech must be written in order to motivate everyone to do well this moon, Aspenheart would be the one to think it and say it. She knows what gets people rallied together, and uses this to gain followers. Her natural confidence draws people in and fascinates them, and despite her often disgruntled temper, there are many who look up and aspire to her. Whether this is due to her strong character, confidence or firmness in her own beliefs - hence the suffix heart - is unknown, but regardless she seems to be able to captivate people, for better or for worse.
+ strong
Aspenheart seems to have a mindset made of rock, because she can bounce back from almost any incident. She is rarely down or saddened, more often angry even if she resents the term. Obstacles are no threat to her own self-confidence, which seems to be a never ending pool. She is physically strong, also, though in an ironic twist seems to be somewhat of a better tracker than fighter, perhaps due to her long whiskers. She will stand up for what she believes in, even if it is very wrong or inaccurate, and though she is not very altruistic, she will defend those who agree with her. In that sense, she is highly resilient, and this is what gives her her apparent strength.
+ perceptive
Little slips past this she-cat. She has this knack of knowing everyone's intentions, all of the time. No one can put a lie past her, as she can detect them in a matter of moments. She is also highly perceptive of her own environment, constantly scanning her surroundings for details that may be of use later, such as the location of a rabbit den or the amount of birds hunted that day. Her catchphrase seems to be "where do you think you're going?" and most people would probably describe her with "eyes in the back of her head".
